Building a Stronger Community

Among our community’s greatest assets are the nonprofits that strengthen and enhance the lives of the people they serve. When nonprofits thrive, everyone thrives.

Better Communities Grants

Better Communities Grants are Rochester Area Foundation’s competitive grant awards, providing unrestricted funding for the core mission of critical community organizations. The purpose of these grants is twofold. First, we seek to empower nonprofits to expand, improve or pursue their best ideas, and second, to build the capacity and infrastructure of organizations that are poised for growth.

The Rochester Area Foundation has been an invaluable partner in helping us launch a local Jeremiah Program to serve low income single mothers and their children in our community.  Since 2015 when  expanding Jeremiah Program to Rochester was a mere grass roots vision of local leaders until the present day as we launch our program and prepare to break ground for a Rochester campus with safe affordable housing and services for forty families, Rochester Area Foundation has supported us every step of the way.

Building Your Nonprofit Endowment

An endowment is an important component to a nonprofit’s financial strategy. RAF manages more than 100 endowments for charities, and provides ongoing technical assistance to those groups on topics such as fundraising for their endowment and planned giving strategies. Charitable organizations with a nonprofit endowment fund receive a steady stream of income to support their ongoing good works.
