Applying for RAF Scholarships
Applying for a scholarship through the Rochester Area Foundation is easy! Scholarship Applications will open in January, 2024.
Step 1. Gather Your Information
Gather all of the information you will need. Most scholarship applications require your most recent high school or college transcripts (high school seniors must include first-semester senior year), and most require a list of work experience, volunteer activities, and extracurriculars.
Students/families seeking need-based scholarships should begin the process by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Through detailed information provided on the application, a Student Aid Report (SAR) is issued. Information from the SAR is used to complete financial questions on the application.
Step 2. Create an Account and Determine Eligibility
The Apply RAF portal will open on January 4, 2024 at 9 a.m. Scholarship applications are due March 29, 2024 at 11 pm. CST. Students start by creating a profile and answering some basic questions to determine their eligibility for the various scholarships.
Step 3. Apply for Scholarships
After you have completed the eligibility quiz in the Apply RAF portal, you can begin applying for scholarships by previewing the questions, and then hitting “Apply”. Although you have to apply for each scholarship individually, you are able to copy your responses between applications. You can save your applications and

Step 4. Check Your Mailbox
Notification of scholarship awards will be made by June 1st by email. If you are selected for a scholarship you must submit your college choice form to us by June 30th so we know where to direct your scholarship award. Award checks will be mailed to your school by July 31st.
